How to Stop Waiting For Your Mechanic To Fix Your Car Or Auto

How to Stop Waiting For Your Mechanic To Fix Your Car Or Auto

Here are few suggestions for you if you have been waiting for your car to be repaired with no results.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

1.      Step 1

If you dropped off your car for repairs, has it been a while since you heard from them?
When you call the company do they give you a date that the car will be ready and then when you call the car isn't ready?
Does the company tell you that they are having trouble finding parts?
Does to company tell you that they are short on help?
Do you feel like you have to nag or "nice" the work out of them? In other words, if you begin to get a little annoyed, then do they tell you that you can take your work elsewhere?

2.      Step 2

If you answered yes to many, all or even one of the questions above then you probably have a mechanic company that takes major repairs on big vehicles first because they mean more money and they put off other peoples car repairs if they are small or they can't charge as much for the repair. So you are stuck in the middle especially if you had to have your smaller car towed or the repair is more minor and the car is not working.

3.      Step 3

The best thing to do in this case is be as nice as possible, but be extremely persistent. When you call ask if your car is fixed yet. Make it the first question. When the company tells you that it is not, then ask what day it will be repaired. Get as specific an answer as possible. Like Tuesday at 2pm. Then tell the company that you will call then to see if it is ready. Make it a point to call at that time and on that date.

4.      Step 4

If the company tells you that the auto is not ready then, as nicely as possible, get another time and date that it will be, and then go to the shop and actually pick up your car. Tell the company that you are there to pick the car up. If it is not fixed, then get another date. Keep embarrassing them and aggravating them with your nice attitude.

5.      Step 5

When you finally get your car and pay for it, then file a complaint with the better business bureau. In the letter describe what you think happened with the company who fixed your car. A lot of people refer to the BBB when they are shopping for a local business. This will help them be aware of the company's business practices.
