You'll save money by getting a lot better gas mileage. If you are told you need to replace a fuel injector, try this first and it could very well save you hundreds of dollars on parts and labor to replace a fuel injector.

·       3 to 5 Cans of Carburetor Cleaner

·       1 Bottle of Rubbing Alcohol or Fuel Injector Cleaner

·       1 Flat Head Screwdriver

1.      Step 1

With fuel prices what they are today we need all the help we can get.

Rubbing alcohol costs less than fuel injector cleaner and that is why I use it. It's up to you which one you choose for quality as it is six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Pour the contents of the bottle in your gas tank before filling up at the pump.

2.      Step 2

Return home and open the hood of your vehicle. Locate the air filter. The air filter housing has a hose that leads to the throttle plate. Remove air filter housing and accompanying hose with a flat head screwdriver. This step should take less than 60 seconds.

3.      Step 3

Start your engine.

Spray carburetor cleaner directly into the hole where the air cleaner housing hose was hooked up to the engine.

Once you start spraying the carburetor cleaner you will immediately notice your car running smoother and quieter.

5.      Step 5

Allow your vehicle to idle. If the engine begins to run rough again spray another can of carburetor cleaner.

Repeat until you've used three cans if your vehicle is less than five years old. Five cans will be required if your vehicle is more than five years old.

6.      Step 6

If your engine is still running rough contact a mechanic.
